CHIEF ENGINEER

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible to the Master
  • Part of the Management team that is in charge of the vessel’s technical resources and the maintenance of these to ensure vessel’s seaworthiness, as well as the safety of the crew under his authority.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering or Associate in Marine Engineering.

Experience

Minimum of two (2) contracts as Chief Engineer in ocean-going vessels.

Competencies

Strong strategic leadership skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; management level skills; basic computer knowledge.

Documents

Holder of valid National Endorsement and Certificate as Chief Engineer, National Passport and Seafarers Identification and Record Book (SIRB), NBI clearance; training certificates in compliance with the STCW 78 Convention, as amended 1995 (e.g. Basic Training, Consolidated Marpol, PSCRB, PRFRB, ATFF, MEFA, MECA, SSO, SDSD etc).

Medical

Must pass Pre-employment Medical Examination as per vessel’s P&I Club.
